Urinary incontinence is a loss of bladder control and involves an important
psychological and social impact, that can seriously affect on patient's
lifestyle. The causes are multiple, including detrusor instability (spastic
bladder), incontinence because of overflow, postpartum situation, strain causes,
low muscular form in elderly patients or simply a false incontinence (functional).
We can also find it as secondary to anatomic abnormalities, physical effort, emergency-related nervous system diseases or infections, or the drip that accompanies an over-distended flaccid bladder. In our hands, the patient will strengthen the pelvic floor to improve their function or to enhance the surgical procedures, in order to not relapse.
